HPL 380 – power in a double pack
The US company Steelcase is the leading producer of office furniture worldwide. In German-speaking regions, the company is represented by subsidiary Steelcase Werndl AG. This company, which is based in Rosenheim, operates a production site in Durlangen, Swabia, where two new HPL 380 profiLine panel-sizing saws were added in 2008. 		A step ahead thanks to flexibility To ensure panel cutting is equal to the growing demands in production at Steelcase, the company decided to invest in a new cutting concept. The ideal solution was installed in March 2008. The system incorporates two HOLZMA HPL 380 profiLine panel-sizing saws, positioned next to each other, combined with the TBP 200 feed system from BARGSTEDT. Both HOLZMA saws work with the optimisation software Cut Rite and use the Power Concept. This accelerates cutting and means that Steelcase is less dependent on external suppliers, both in production and in internal processes. Dirk Nolff from Steelcase agrees: "With the new system, we are much more flexible and effective in terms of panel cutting. The quality of the cut has improved, and we are able to process similar parts in small batch sizes while being much less reliant on our suppliers."
