Made in Germany: HOLZMA solutions from S to XXL at LIGNA 2011

HOLZMA is committed to meeting customer requirements from S to XXL.
The global market leader in horizontal beam saws already provides the widest range of products ever in the history of the company. Now, the company is taking another big step forward with the new 4 series. This innovative generation of saws will be presented for the first time at LIGNA 2011, from 30 May to 3 June. The new models integrate perfectly with all the other series in the closely interlinked product portfolio, providing customers with more possibilities than ever before.

At the same time, the Swabian company is once again reinforcing its leading role in panel-sizing technology by presenting cutting-edge technologies "Made in Germany". At LIGNA this year, they will be showcasing new ecoLine technologies for an even greater energy saving; a small saw-storage combination; the new 3 series, which was launched only recently; the latest highlights from the HOLZMA Innovation Center; and new software solutions for optimisation and machine control.

In conjunction with current tried-and-tested technologies, the new developments complement the HOLZMA portfolio and provide comprehensive system solutions for all processing requirements. The LIGNA highlights at a glance:

The new 4 series
Following on from the new 3 series, this year will see a completely revamped and significantly improved 4 series. It addresses the needs of mass producers all around the world and comprises the single saws HPP 410 (110 mm saw blade projection) and HPP 430 (130 mm saw blade projection), the single saws with lift tables HPL 410 and HPL 430 and the angular system HKL 430. The HPL 430 and HKL 430 saws are also available in profiLine versions – with a far wider range of options.
Many of the innovations that have already proved themselves in the new 3 series can now be found in the new 4 series. These include among others the energy-saving ecoLine technologies which are now being marketed under the name of "ecoPlus". Other new features include a window in the pressure beam, which allows a clear view of the rear machine table, two-fingered clamps throughout and a table height of 920 mm.  As in the 3 series, a completely redesigned saw carriage combines improved performance with high energy efficiency. It also allows the installation of new optional extras such as the new "ascending vertical saw" option. Many other new features markedly improve operator comfort and enhance performance. (Hall 26)

ecoLine is now ecoPlus
Back at the 2009 LIGNA Fair, the ecoLine technologies from HOLZMA were already a caused of great interest. In the 3 series, they achieve an energy saving of up to 20% compared with the previous models. EFF1 motors, the green standy button, an improved extraction system and much more impressed customers from all over the world. Then, in September 2010, HOLZMA demonstrated that ecoLine was a strategy for the future that they were committed to pursuing. That was when the mechanical engineering company launched their new 3 series and implemented a further energy saving of up to 20%, subject to machine model and options. This was achieved by further improving the extraction system, by optimising the pneumatic system and replacing pneumatic components with electronic components and by developing new design approaches.

For LIGNA 2011, HOLZMA has taken the next logical step and also equipped the new 4 series with ecoPlus technologies. In order to emphasise the abundance of new features in the name itself and to underline their alliance with the HOMAG Group, HOLZMA has changed the name from "ecoLine technologies" to "ecoPlus technologies". The intention, however, remains the same: to save more energy and to enhance the technological achievements. (Halls 11 and 26).

The fact that concepts like "ecoPlus" will continue to play a particularly important role in the future is demonstrated by the theme of the Fair "Resource Efficiency", to which not only the Deutsche Messe AG but also the HOMAG Group have committed themselves. The objective: higher productivity, exploitation of potential for increasing efficiency and greater flexibility for man and machine.

New saw-storage combination as an entry-level solution
Addressing in particular the needs of customers from the craft sector, HOLZMA and BARGSTEDT have developed a new saw-storage combination to provide an automatic feeding solution for even small production shops. This solution is economical and ergonomic; it saves money and organises processes. The new TLF 210 storage system in combination with the HPP 230 saw will be on show at the LIGNA Fair.

Innovation Center
In the Innovation Center of the HOMAG Group (Hall 26), HOLZMA will be showcasing a further technological highlight "Made in Germany": the new "scoring saw bearing" for the 3 series (patent pending). It uses what is called an absolute measuring system. With its help, the position of the saw blade is saved, allowing precise repositioning after a saw blade has been changed.
The  scoring saw bearing allows, among other things, the "vertical scoring" of books. The edge of the entire book is scored to a depth of up to 15 mm, making this a perfect optional extra for cutting parts with veneer, paper or ABS edges.

At the Fair
In Hall 26 (INDUSTRY) HOLZMA will be showcasing the following saws: HPP 380 profiLine, HPL 430 profiLine linked to a BARGSTEDT TLF 420/0/7/12 storage system, HKL 430 profiLine and HPP 570 profiLine. In Hall 11 (PRACTIVE) there will be a chance to see the HPP 230 linked to the new BARGSTEDT TLF 210/11/08 storage system and the HPP 350 with the optional feeding system "Easy2Feed" in the rear machine table.

All the HOLZMA saws at LIGNA 2011 will be equipped with a wide range of options – for example with classics such as Power Concept, Domino System with automatic labelling near the pressure beam, Soft Touch, solutions for angle cuts, grooving and cut-outs, storage location management for offcuts and many more.

Also at the Fair: the HOLZMA Systems Engineering team. These experts will be providing information on solutions for industrial manufacturing and on the use of HOLZMA simulation software when planning industrial systems. (Hall 26, HOLZMA).

The HOLZMA Service for modernisation and retrofits has been significantly reinforced. This team of experts develops customised modernisation concepts for saws or systems that are already in operation with the aim of increasing the efficiency of the cutting process. Whether by installing an automatic labelling system, by updating the software or by integrating energy-saving ecoPlus technologies - the range of options is extensive. The HOLZMA Service team will be available to advise customers on the right choice (Hall 26, HOMAG Group Service area).

Furthermore, visitors to the Fair will be have the chance to catch up on latest developments in the HOLZMA optimisation software Cut Rite (Hall 26, HOMAG Group Software area) and in the CADmatic, their proprietary machine controller, in individual discussions.
The machine controller of the 2 series has been given a facelift, and the HPP 250 can now optionally be equipped with CADmatic PROFESSIONAL.
